Question Widget

The Question widget allows you to add an individual question to a site.

The aim of this guide is to introduce you to:

The Question widget works best when a site is set to display in presentation mode, whereby a user can’t progress through to the next part of the site until they have either attempted to answer the question or completed the question correctly.

Select the page you wish to add the Question widget to.

Click, drag and drop the widget into a layout box

Creating the question

To add an individual question to your site, select the Create question button.

Select a question to add. The popup window will display:

  • Multiple choice
  • Free text
  • Match pairs
  • Ordering
  • Category
  • Highlight words
  • Fill the blanks.

Each question will have different details to fill in to complete the question design.
Complete the question details as appropriate and select the Save question button.

The question you have just created will display within your site.

Note: Only a single question can be associated with the Question widget.

Note: Save the changes to the site and exit edit mode to see how the Question widget displays to a user. If the user is to close the site and navigate back to the site at a later date, the question widget will reset, with the user able to answer the question again.

 

Advanced settings

The Use As control setting can be used when the site has Display mode set to Presentation, by default this option is disabled.

What this will mean from a user perspective is that the Next and Back buttons displayed at the bottom of the site to navigate will not display, until they have either attempted the question or answered it correctly.

By selecting the use as control option, an additional preference Complete when with the following two options:

  • The question was answered correctly
  • The question was attempted.​​​​​​​

By default, the option the question was attempted is auto-selected.
