Action Button Widget

The Action button widget allows pages/content to be copied from one Frog site into another.

The aim of this guide is to introduce you to:

Action Widget

The Action button widget allows pages/content to be copied from one Frog site into another.

Note: Only users with Contribute or Edit and manage rights will be able to see and select the button.

The following options are available in the edit panel:

  • Button label - allows users to change the text shown within the button
  • Button colour - allows users to change the colour of the button
  • Link action - allows users to choose what action you want the button to take.

Link action

The Link action drop down field has three actions it can perform within the Frog site. Link actions set the behaviour of the button when selected.

  • Duplicate a page - takes a copy of the selected page and adds the duplicated page to the end of the current Frog site
  • Copy page content - takes a copy of the contents from the selected page and adds it to the current page
  • Site access - will grant the logged in user access to the selected Frog site.

Once users have selected an action, the next step is to select a page. Below the link action menu, a new Page field will appear. Selecting the Page icon to the right will open a pop up window that displays the Frog site structure from FrogDrive.

Search for and then select a Frog site and page and select the Use button found in the top right hand corner.

Advanced settings

Note: Advanced settings will not be displayed until you have selected the Save changes button.

Close and reopen the Edit panel and select the Action button widget again to access Advanced settings.

Duplicate a page

When selecting the Duplicate a page action, in the widget advanced settings, you have the option to allow the user to override the page name. This means that when the page is duplicated, the user can rename it to whatever they wish. Unticking this option means the duplicated page will keep the original page name when duplicated.

Copy page content

When selecting the Copy page content action, in the widget advanced settings, you have the option to specify where you want the page content to be pasted. You can choose to paste the content below or above the action button widget.

Site access

When selecting the Site access action, you will need to specify a site you want to give the user access to. You then need to specify what permission you want the user to have when they select from the drop down field - Can view or Can contribute.

On click

These options allow the user to specify what happens when the user selects the action button.
